Previous Page Next PageGogglebox favourite Shirley Griffiths has said there’s one TV show that doesn’t have her reaching for the remote.
The 67-year-old Channel 4 star’s job requires her to watch a little bit of everything with husband of over 40 years Dave Griffiths. Their often humorous comments on the week’s TV offerings will be aired along with their co-stars’ musings to make the beloved series.
While they accept that the variety is part and parcel of the gig, when asked by Metro at the TV Choice Awards if there’s a programme they just wouldn’t watch, Shirley quickly replied: ‘I’m not a lover of the Naked Attraction where they strip off.’
The dating show presented by Anna Richardson sees a singleton choose who to date based on their nude body.
‘But I am,’ Dave, 67, shared with a laugh. Shirley summarised: ‘Yeah you don’t mind it. I don’t like it.’
Although Dave gives anything a go, he often finds himself asking Shirley: ‘What the hell was that all about?’

The couple who’ve been on the show since 2015 have no plans for us to ever see them away from their sofas in Caerphilly, Wales.
‘This TV show is enough,’ Dave stated, with Shirley adding that they just simply ‘love’ Gogglebox. The fans love it too with the show picking up Best Entertainment Show at the TV Choice Awards.
Part of their adoration for the series comes from how they’ve formed a nice bond with their co-stars. Although they all film separately in different parts of the UK the families get to know each other off-screen.

‘We keep in touch through texting and quite regularly,’ Dave shared. ‘We wish each other happy birthdays and check in saying “Hope you’re looking after yourself”.’
‘I like them all,’ Shirley says, before Dave tells us what viewers have always suspected: ‘They’re all lovely.’
Gogglebox is available to watch on Channel 4.
