Michelle Ogundehin’s rise to fame has seen her go from working in a shoe shop encountering ‘old ladies’ bunions’ to a BBC star on Interior Design Masters.

Since 2019, the creative consultant has been the head judge on the reality competition series presented by Alan Carr, which pits ten amateur designers against each other for a chance to win a commercial contract.

But before Michelle’s TV career, which has also seen her star alongside Kevin McCloud on Grand Designs: House of the Year, she was a formidable magazine editor, working for Elle Decoration UK.

Away from the cameras, Michelle lives the coastal life dream in Brighton with her son, conceived by IVF. She previously told The Times she sold a £10,000 artwork to fund the fertility treatment.

How old is Michelle Ogundehin?

Michelle’s age is a closely guarded secret. As the Times reports, the TV star ‘doesn’t like to give her age.’

‘I’ll be 70 before I admit to being 40,’ she said in 2022.

Michelle is divorced, and the identity of her ex-husband is unknown.. It is not known if she is currently in a relationship.

On Instagram, she previously said of her marriage, while speaking about her oldest friend:  ‘Aeons ago, she was the only one brave enough to speak up and try to tell me that the man I was intending to marry was wrong for me.

‘Of course I didn’t listen. I didn’t want to listen. I wanted my happily ever after. But I should have listened. We split just 3 months after the wedding. Officially divorced two years later.’

Does Michelle Ogundehin have children?

Michelle has one son, whom she has not named publicly, and they live together in Brighton.

She also has a Basset Hound.

Nearly a decade after graduating from the Bartlett School of Architecture in 1989, Michelle began working at Elle Decoration UK,

In 2004, she was appointed editor-in-chief at the publication, winning awards including specialist consumer magazine of the year at the PPAAwards.

After 13 years, Michelle stepped down from the role in 2017 but has continued writing, including for the Financial Times and The Observer.

In 2002, she established her own creative consultancy, MO:Studio

Michelle’s first TV credit was Grand Designs: House of the Year in 2015 before being picked as head judge on Interior Design Masters.

Her other appearances include Inside Out Homes, Auction Party, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, This Morning’s The Next Big Thing and Newsnight.

Michelle’s first book, Happy Inside: How to Harness the Power of Home for Health and Happiness, was published in 2020.
