The Jonas Brothers gave their fans ‘heart attacks’ with a surprisingly emotional letter shared on their social media.

Many believed the Sucker hitmakers were splitting up once again, over a decade after their first breakup resulted in a cancelled album.

‘To our incredible fans, as a family we have been reflecting a lot lately,’ the band wrote in the unexpected letter on Instagram.

They continued: ‘It’s been 20 years since we started this journey together. To us, it feels like just yesterday we were loading up our family mini-van with a couple of guitars.’

Clearly in a nostalgic mood, the brothers – Nick, Joe, and Kevin – reflected on chasing their dreams of playing music as teenagers.

‘Nick wasn’t even old enough to get into a PG-13 movie,’ they joked as the Jonas Brothers thanked fans for the ‘journey’ that ‘wouldn’t have been possible’ without their support.

Understandably, this caused huge alarm in the comments as fans ‘thought they were breaking up again’.

‘I LITERALLY HAVE PTSD CAUSE I THOUGHT THIS WAS A BREAKUP LETTER ????????????‍????,’ wrote fallarame.

‘I almost got mad at Nick again thinking this was a breakup letter????,’ joked sydkbaker.

‘You’re so good on giving heart attacks ????❤️,’ added evipap3 as gabrielaisabeel said: ‘I panicked for a sec.’

‘STOP I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOING TO BE ANOTHER BREAKUP,’ commented dawnsh**tyadventures, which gained over 46,000 likes.

In 2010, the trio devastated fans by heading on a hiatus to pursue solo careers which turned into an official break-up three years later.

Their mid-tour split hinted at an Oasis-level spat, with the group cancelling 23 dates after ‘a deep rift within the band’ over creative differences.

Despite having an album ready to go, the new music was pulled and replaced with their fifth album Live which included live recordings and six new tracks.

Fans were devastated at the time, lamenting on social media for years about the breakup until in 2019, finally, the brothers reunited.

Since then they’ve released two new studio albums and been on three world tours – although their recent European tour was postponed in favour of ‘other projects’.

Given how abruptly it all ended the first time, it’s no surprise fans jumped to the worst conclusion after a bumpy tour in 2024.

Turns out, the JoBros just wanted to thank everyone for last year’s successes and reveal their plans for 2025.

‘2025 will be a year of music,’ they announced, confirming new Jonas Brothers songs as well as solo projects, a live concert album and a soundtrack are on the way.

They continued: ‘We are nearly wrapped on our holiday movie that we can’t wait for you to see this fall.

‘Expect a lot more announcements over the coming days and weeks. From the bottom of our hearts: thank you.

‘Here’s to the next 20 years and here’s to doing it together. The best is yet to come.’
