Kelsey Grammer teases Frasier could return with a familiar face after axe
Could it be?

Kelsey Grammer is ‘very positive’ that the Frasier reboot can return for a third season, after it was canceled at the beginning of the year.
The 70-year-old reprised his role as the titular character for a 2023 revival on Paramount+, 30 years after the Cheers spin-off first premiered.
He was joined by a mostly new cast, including Nicholas Lyndhurst and Jack Cutmore-Scott, but the new episodes failed to impress viewers and critics alike, leading to the comedy being axed after two seasons.
However, unpacking the news in a new interview, the actor shared his belief that it will find a different home on another network or streaming platform – and teased that some familiar faces could return with him.
‘There’s a better home for it,’ he insisted. ‘I mean, obviously, they didn’t really promote or spend much time on it.
‘The fellow that worked at Paramount+ when we first sold the show there left, and so it fell into their laps, the next administration, without having any real conscious and what to do with it. So I think they gave it a good try, but they weren’t particularly passionate about the project.’

Touching on what could happen if the sitcom is picked up elsewhere, Kelsey teased that this could change in a big way for possible episodes.
‘We’ll end up somewhere where people are passionate about it,’ he continued to the New York Post. ‘Ted [Danson] and I might visit actually something together.
Kelsey teased an onscreen reunion with Ted Danson’s Sam Malone (Picture: NBC)‘We’ve been talking about a couple ideas. Maybe on Frasier. We don’t know.’
‘As long as it’s still a relevant relationship, it will still be relevant for the show,’ he added. ‘[Sam] and Frasier got along pretty well, discovered some things together about life. They could still do that.’
The actors first worked together on Cheers in the 80s, where Ted starred as bar owner Sam Malone opposite Kelsey’s Frasier.

While there may be opportunities for more reunions if the reboot is picked up, there is no chance that we will see the iconic bar once again.
Pouring ice cold water on any speculation, Kelsey previously told USA Today: ‘It’s gone, the bar is gone.’
