Lucy Mecklenburgh has been slated online and branded ‘entitled’ after becoming emotional about moving house.

The Towie alum, who rose to fame on the ITV2 reality series in 2010, shared a video on social media, showing herself packing up the London house she’s had for 11 years.

Lucy explained that she ‘didn’t expect’ to be so tearful about the life change, admitting that there were ‘mixed emotions’ involved.

‘We outgrew this house so long ago,’ she shared. ‘We made the big move to Manchester and we’re really happy, but there are so many memories that I’ve hung onto in this house.’

She continued: ‘I went through being single; it was my first big renovation project; it was my first real home since moving out of my parents’, I guess.

‘I brought both my babies back from hospital here, and there’s just something about that… I could never get rid of this house, so we just made it work over the years, even though it definitely wasn’t big enough.

‘We didn’t have enough bedrooms; we didn’t have enough storage, but it is time to go.’

The video montage included clips of removal men carrying her furniture out to their van, as well as her little ones helping with wrapping up picture frames and putting them into boxes.

Also getting involved was former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, 40, whom Lucy has been in a relationship with since 2017.

The couple got engaged in 2019 and share Roman, four, and two-year-old daughter Lilah.

‘Seeing the rooms empty is the bit that just made me cry,’ Lucy concluded in her video, showing herself wiping her eyes as the sprawling mansion was now barren.

While some of Lucy’s 1.7million followers were sympathetic to her experiences, alas, the same could not be said for the majority.

Instead, many took her post as a chance to criticise her, even declaring they are now ‘unfollowing’.

Instagram user sound_of_eden_ wrote: ‘Will defo be unfollowing after this, I understand that she’s sad leaving her home when it has sentimental value with her children etc. But the post isn’t real life, she’s being filmed packing glasses with one hand while holding the baby and stating she is moving because she doesn’t have enough storage while she is packing 3 boxes of handbags with ample storage behind her ???????? insta at its finest ????’

Echoing the sentiments, fluffyballs20242 commented: ‘Someone’s a bit entitled. Not enough room for 2 kids and 2 adults you could an entire street in that house. What goes through peoples mind when they’re editing this to post??’

‘Not enough storage? Wow I wish I had that much storage’, mocked fabiana993, noting the size of Lucy and Ryan’s former home.

Similarly, bats08 urged the influencer to ‘get a grip’ and scoobolobodob suggested she has ‘too much unnecessary stuff’.

Not all feedback was negative, however, as plenty jumped to defend Lucy, reminding the trolls that every situation is ‘relative’.

‘You and your family will make even more memories in your new home. Then one day you will know that it’s your forever home. ????’, commented sandbuff1234.

‘Aw so emotional but new memories are awaiting ❤️’, added iamnicolechapman.

Scott Thomas, Love Islander and brother of Ryan, also wrote sweetly: ‘We will look after you in Manchester now Lucy Loo xx’

As well as his two kids with Lucy, Ryan also has a teenage daughter from his relationship with co-star Tina O’Brien.

They co-parent Scarlett, 16, who currently stars in ITV drama Waterloo Road. Tina, who still plays Sarah Platt in Corrie, also has a son, Beau, 10, with her husband Adam Crofts.
