Netflix fans hail ‘biggest plot twist’ as stars get engaged after secret romance
Many people didn't even know they were together!
Netflix fans couldn’t contain their excitement as Love is Blind star Ollie Sutherland proposed to fellow reality star Amber Desiree ‘AD’ Smith.
The pair rose to fame on separate seasons of Love Is Blind – Ollie on the UK’s debut season and AD on season six of the US version.
Although their LIB romances fizzled out, the newly engaged couple eventually crossed paths during Netflix’s upcoming third season of Perfect Match, where reality stars across various shows come together to find love.
While the new season will premiere this summer, it seems viewers are guaranteed one happy ending as the couple announced they were engaged with a sweet video of the proposal, uploaded to social media.
In the clip, the 31-year-old Londoner leads a confused AD to the beach, where an elaborate white floral arrangement is set up.

‘Ollie, what’s happening?’ AD asks him. He then bends down on one knee as AD exclaims: ‘Oh my god’.
‘You’re my best friend; you’re the love of my life. I’ve never felt as happy or as complete as I have since I met you. And nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you, loving you.’
After popping the all-important question, AD, who was dressed in a floor-length gold gown and matching makeup, delightedly said yes as the happy couple celebrated.
The video also showed the tearful reaction of the season eight cast and the longtime show hosts, Vanessa and Nick Lachey, during the reunion episode where AD and Ollie made their relationship public.

Fans, new and old, flocked to the comments, with many only just realising they were even together.

Meanwhile, AD went through her season with Clay Gravesande but ended things when it was time for the wedding.
During the season six reunion in March 2024, AD shut down any possibility of rekindling a romance with Clay.
‘You had your chance, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t have given you, there’s nothing I wouldn’t have done for you. And low key, respectfully, you played in my f***ing face… because you knew that you didn’t want to get married,’ she said at the time.
Luckily, everything worked out for the best for AD.
Now, AD and Ollie will open up about their behind-the-scenes romance in Tuesday’s episode of her new What’s the Reality podcast, where her fiancé is a guest.
In a teaser clip, AD said she ‘could be more excited to have’ him on the show’. Ollie said putting a ring on her finger was ‘the best decision I ever made’ as he delved further into how he ‘set the surprise proposal up’.
Love Is Blind season eight and Love Is Blind: UK season one are available to stream on Netflix now. There is currently no release date for Perfect Match season three.
