Former Oasis bandmate Tony McCarroll surprised fans with an emotional shout-out to the Gallagher brothers almost 25 years after his dramatic exit.

Tony, 53, left — or was asked to leave — in April 1999, replaced soon after by Alan White, who remained with the group until 2004.

Things became even messier when the drummer then sued Oasis over royalties, asking for a whopping £18,000,000.

Last year when the reunion tour was first announced, Tony sent some rare public praise to Noel and Liam Gallagher and wished them luck.

After the lawsuit was settled fans were unsure how the former bandmates felt about each other, but as it seems they have firmly buried the hatchet … and he wants to be on the tour.

‘Almost a lifetime ago, a few Burnage lads got together and created something special,’ Tony wrote on Instagram with a throwback picture.

He continued: ‘Something that time can’t out date, the start of a wave that’s evidently still rolling with the last real band before the world changed.

‘Oasis captured the time and minds of the people; we were the same as them, and they felt it. The connection.’

Tony noted there has been an increase of ‘youth’ attending his gigs and Q&As in the last few years.

‘The circle has started again lads,’ the drummer added. ‘A new generation ready to start a journey of listening.

‘Actually, I’m a bit jealous of that blank canvas they’re about to start on.’

The post wasn’t just a trip down memory lane, Tony also put himself forward for a guest spot on the tour.

This comes weeks after Liam Gallagher jokingly ‘confirmed’ the reunion lineup would include the original drummer and some other familiar names.

Liam, 52, is happily teasing us with regular rants on X, and shared that Alan White would be on bass, Zak Starkey as lead guitarist, and Chris Sharrock on keys.

However, given that these are all drummers who have previously played with Oasis, he’s definitely messing with us.

Directly addressing the band, Tony added: ‘Lads, the world is excited to see this, it’s all people are talking about. The time ‘feels’ right, I can’t wait to see how it all goes down.

‘Liam, Noel, Bone, Gem…. (I better stop there as I’m not sure who else). Good luck with everything, and don’t forget to stop and take it in!

‘If the drummer fancies a stage partner for Supersonic at Heaton Park, give us a buzz ;).’

The Who’s Zak Starkey — who also played with Oasis — replied: ‘Arright Tony how’s it? Yknow that album ur on yeah? It’s the best one .

‘What an achievement. I’m on the two at the end and they are great but not the best one . U r the rock n roll star geez x’

Tony’s exit wasn’t exactly on the best terms, reportedly clashing with Noel repeatedly before suing the Gallaghers, claiming he was owed his part of the band’s five-album deal.

This would include two albums he had not played on. The case was then settled out of court for £550,000 and the drummer’s agreement to relinquish future royalties.

In 2022, he revealed he’s only ever been to see one Oasis gig since he left the band — and it happened to be their last one.

Speaking on Microdot’s YouTube channel, he confirmed he was at V Festival on August 22, 2009.

That fateful day was the last time the Gallagher brothers performed together after Liam reportedly smashed one of Noel’s guitars in the midst of a fight.

We are mere months away from Oasis finally returning, and who knows, maybe Tony will be by their side.
