After a 26-year wait, fans can finally watch the trailer for the reboot of the trailblazing BBC series, Walking With Dinosaurs.

The BBC factual drama originally aired in 1999 and was narrated by Kenneth Brannagh as each episode took the audience on a dramatic odyssey to uncover the vast lives of this beloved pre-historic species.

Now, alongside the trailer, the BBC has confirmed the narrator of the new six-part series will be the award-winning actor Bertie Carvel known for his starring turns in Dalgliesh, Doctor Foster and The Crown as well as scoring multiple Oliviers and a Tony award.

The 60-second trailer for the ‘ultimate dinosaur show’ offers a majestic sweep of the mountainous forests in Alberta to the red rock canyons of Utah as viewers step back in time once more ‘to witness the incredible life stories of these long-lost giants.’

And we’re in for a treat with a selection of jaw-dropping dinosaurs that will leave you bewitched by their impressive worlds.

As intriguingly explained by the BBC: ‘These include a Spinosaurus – the largest carnivorous dinosaur to ever walk the earth – roaming the rivers of ancient Morocco; a youthful Triceratops battling a ravenous T. rex in North America; and a lonely giant Lusotitan risking it all for a love in Portugal.’

And, with all the ‘cutting edge’ scientific developments from the past two decades, we’ll be getting our most accurate glimpse ever into how dinosaurs truly ‘lived, hunted, fought and died’ all those eons ago with ‘state of the art visual effects’.

‘I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this exciting new reimagining of Walking With Dinosaurs.

‘The BBC is a world-leader in creating groundbreaking and innovative science programming which I’ve admired all my life, so I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the team bringing the stories of these prehistoric creatures to life,’ Bertie said in a statement.
