The Traitors star Maia Gouveia has revealed she was rushed to A&E after vomiting for ‘seven hours’.

The 25-year-old content creator and mum from Essex was a Faithful on Claudia Winkleman’s murder mystery gameshow, alongside her sister Armani, a Traitor.

Though neither made it through the banishments and ‘murders’ all the way to the end (which saw Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown walk away with £94,600), they’ve since gained a loyal following from fans.

In recent weeks, Maia has been sharing her pregnancy journey on TikTok, as she prepares to welcome her second child.

She’s now however revealed the ‘rough’ time she’s been having, including hospital trips and suffering from ‘exhaustion’.

In a video on TikTok, titled ‘A big fat pregnancy rant,’ Maia began: ‘Guys, so much has been going on during this pregnancy, I literally have never felt this overwhelmed before in my life.

‘I don’t think overwhelmed is the word, it’s just this pregnancy has been so tough, I don’t even know where to begin.’

She told her 170,000 followers that she had been struck down with illness three times this month alone, and she hasn’t had energy to even do her hair.

‘I was meant to be relaxed coming back home from holiday, but where did I end up? A&E,’ she revealed.

‘I thought my hardest thing while being pregnant the second time around was going to be dealing with a toddler.

‘No, no, the stupid… I don’t want to say stupid, because I don’t want to be mean… bad vibes for the baby.’

She went on: ‘They always say that crap like, “Don’t try and stress, it’ll stress the baby out,” every time I go into the hospital, that baby is fine.

‘Every time I have a check-up, the baby is fine, but [they say] we might think you have a blood clot in your liver, we think you’ve got a viral infection.’

Maia added: ‘My health this year has been disgraceful.’

She explained that she was ‘fine’ in holiday in Dubai, but on the last day, she was ‘vomiting up for seven hours’.

‘I’m sorry if I’m ranting guys, but it’s just like it never ends,’ she said.

‘And what’s worse, when you’re pregnant, you can’t take anything for it.’

‘This has been the worst experience,’ she added, before then saying she wasn’t keen for having a third baby as her partner suggested, and there would be ‘no way’ she’d go through this process again.

She continued: ‘I haven’t even planned anything, not one thing. I was meant to do a whole gender reveal, did I do it? No. Why? Because I was sick!

‘I was meant to do a whole baby shower, and this baby is popping out in less than two months, and I have no baby shower planned.

‘I have nothing sorted, my room is a mess, I have no cot.’

‘I don’t know one thing,’ she said.

‘Have I even had the time to do that? No, because all I do is vomit.’

‘I need to take a breather,’ she added, saying: ‘It’s exhausting, it’s tiring, I’m tired.’

‘I just need to get it off my chest because I’m tired, I’m so tired.’

‘I’m excited to meet the baby, but this pregnancy has just been horrible,’ she finished her video saying.

‘I’m not going to lie to you, it’s been crap. That’s all I needed to say, I just needed to complain, I can’t do this, but I can obviously because I’ve been doing it.

‘I’m so emotional as well, I just want to cry, but it’s fine.’

Her followers rushed to the comments to share their support, with Shannon writing: ‘You are allowed to have these feelings, they are so valid! Pregnancy is literally one of the toughest things I’ve been through and I was not expecting it at all, nobody talks about it enough.’

‘Couldn’t relate to a video more!’ @LifeOfPaddyAndSonia said.

‘Bless you Maia I hope that you’re okay,’ Scarley said, while Nina wrote: ‘You’re nearly there.’

‘This is a lot but you’re doing amazing!! Sending lots of live,’ @BigRi said.

Maia shared she was pregnant with her second baby last year before The Traitors aired, and in a post celebrating 2024 on New Year’s Eve, said: ‘It’s crazy how much one year can turn your whole life around.

‘I won’t lie— change isn’t easy. It’s scary. But my life has a way of stitching itself back together, no matter the chaos ????

‘As the new year starts, my biggest goal is to stay hopeful, even when these pregnancy hormones & the post partum try to bring me down.

‘Goodbye, 2024 ???????? you pushed me to my limits, both in my mind and my body.

‘Hello, 2025 ???? bring it on, because I’m ready to take on whatever comes my way! (I.e. 2 kids ????????).’

Maia had previously explained her motivation for going on The Traitors was her children, saying on Lorraine: ‘Nursery is expensive and we had to make some money. I’ve already got one and one on the way. My main motivation was my kids.’

The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
