The PlayStation Network (PSN) has gone down, leaving millions of players unable to play Call of Duty and Fortnite

A worldwide outage erupted on the service yesterday evening before flaring once again just after 9am, according to DownDetector.

Is the PlayStation Network still down?

Sony’s PSN status webpage says account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store and the PlayStation Direct website are all facing issues.

Users ‘may have difficulty’ launching apps, signing in to their accounts and downloading new content.

Affected consoles include PS Vita, PS3, PS4 and the PS5.

Although users can load up offline games, the outage means online games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto are not playable.

‘We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,’ it says.

An estimated time when the issue will be resolved has not been provided.

As of 9.16am, 3,717 issues with the network have been flagged in the UK.
