Shocking detail revealed in My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar’s death
The medical report isn't conclusive.
A startling new detail has emerged in the death of former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar.
A member of the band from 2004 to 2010, Bryar – who played the drums on all of MCR’s biggest hits in their heyday – was found dead in his Tennessee home aged 44 in November 2024.
Now, in an autopsy report obtained by TMZ, its been revealed the musician was found dead ‘next to large supply of nitrous oxide according to the medical examiner.’
The publication went on to report that antidepressant medication was also found in Bryar’s Tennessee home.
While the report notes the nitrous oxide canisters had tubing attached and were ready for use, it remains unclear if the substance played any role in his death.
While the medical examiner’s report raises the possibility of accidental or intentional overdose, it notes that Bryar’s body was too far along in the process of decomposition for a cause of death to be determined accurately.

Law enforcement reported no signs of foul play, as his belongings, including weapons and music equipment, were untouched when his body was found.
Animal Control reportedly removed two dogs from the residence at the time.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, contributing to their landmark album The Black Parade.

The band released a statement at the time describing Bryar’s departure from the band as ‘painful.’
‘As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly,’ it read.
‘We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours and expect you all to do the same.’
After exiting the music scene in 2014, Bryar pursued real estate and animal rescue advocacy.
