Comic Relief viewers were left in stitches watching a sketch about Oasis starring two Inbetweeners stars.

Since being founded in 1985 by Richard Curtis and Sir Lenny Henry, Comic Relief has raised more than £1.6billion for charity.

Tonight, the annual TV fundraiser returned to screens and again included a string of hilarious skits and sketches.

One poked fun at the shambolic dynamic ticket pricing that overshadowed Ticketmaster’s sale of Oasis’ upcoming reunion tour last year.

The brothers were played by James Buckley (as Liam) and Joe Thomas (as Noel), each rocking some bold monobrows.

The sketch – titled Oasis: The Reunion – followed efforts to get the feuding brothers back on stage together.

The sketch also featured Martin Lewis and followed the lead-up to the band’s reunion tour and dynamic ticket pricing drama (Picture: Jordan Mansfield/ Comic Relief/ Getty Images)

With Martin Lewis playing an accountant, he said a tour could bring them in a hefty payday, with the pair eventually deciding it was worth it. Along the way there were other cameos, including Piers Morgan as Ticketmaster.

Many viewers shared their thoughts of the sketch of social media after tuning in.

‘This Oasis sketch is hilarious,’ user itsnickelflysk3 posted on X.

‘Highlight #comicrelief tonight was hands down the Oasis parody—hilarious!’ Tom shared.

‘Loved the Oasis sketch. Superb,’ nw4_number4 wrote.

”That Oasis sketch was superb ???? Need a third inbetweeners movie now,’ Dylan added. The Inbetweeners ran from 2008 to 2010. The Inbetweeners Movie was released in 2011 and was followed by a sequel three years later.

However, others made it clear they weren’t fans.

‘My goodness that Gallagher Brothers skit was incredibly dated and cringe,’ Kevin posted.

‘What the hell was that Oasis reunion sketch, it was abysmal,’ SuperNovaDragon shared.

‘That Oasis sketch on Comic Relief might just be the worst thing I have ever seen,’ Curtis added.

However, many fans of the band would have tuned in to try their chance to win two VIP tickets to watch Oasis from the Royal Box at Wembley Stadium on August 2.

The ‘prize of a lifetime’ was donated by the Gallagher brothers and is expected to raise more than £10 million.

The winners will enjoy hospitality before and after the show in a Wembley lounge hosted by Radio 2 DJ Vernon Kay, receive a guitar signed by Liam and Noel (in one piece, currently), a complete set of Oasis tour merchandise as well as travel costs and a hotel.

After 10 million fans attempted to get tickets to the tour it’s believed the prize, which will be open for 24 days, will become the biggest single fundraising draw in Comic Relief’s 40-year history.

Comic Relief is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
