‘Trainwreck’ TV spin-off lands dismal 34% Rotten Tomatoes score after being slated
Ouch!

Fans have branded the new Suits spin-off a ‘trainwreck’ after it premiered last night, with many turning the episode off before it even ended.
The first episode of the eagerly-anticipated Suits LA series aired on NBC on Sunday, introducing us to powerful lawyer Ted Black (Stephen Amell), as he battles to keep his firm afloat.
Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg are also in the cast, with Gabriel Macht set to reprise his role as Harvey Specter for a brief cameo at some point in the season.
Despite returning to the courtroom for the new episodes, viewers weren’t quite loving the spin-off, which currently has a dismal 34% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to a critics ranking of just 35%.
‘Was so disappointed! The cast lacked chemistry and the plot was dull,’ Diane M said on the platform.
‘It jumped right into a plot with introducing you to the new city, firm or characters. I’ll try episode 2 but not looking promising.’

‘Just ridiculous. Mr Korsh that was an embarrassment to your credibility and will stain your legacy. I can’t believe how let down I am after that. I can’t say even as an avid Suits fan I will bother to watch the 2nd episode [sic].’
Flocking to Reddit, Salgatorium fumed: ‘They are trying to be exactly like the original Suits and it is awful. The plot is already all over the place 15 minutes in.

Dadonred said: ‘This is like a parody of a low budget spoof of the original. Horrible! Bad writing, bad acting, boring scenes. Ugh.’
‘Eight minutes in and I decided to stop watching,’ FrostFizz agreed. ‘It doesn’t feel natural. It feels like they’re doing their lines for this show and they’re trying hard to make it look real, but it doesn’t sync with the script.’

TV bosses announced Suits LA in 2023, with the first trailer dropping in December – while the show airs on NBC on Sunday nights in the US, there is currently no air date for UK viewers.
The original series, which ran for nine seasons before ending in 2019, is available to stream on Netflix now.
Gabriel Macht will be reprising his role as Harvey Specter for a cameo (Picture: NBC)Gabriel, who played the legendary Harvey, previously sent fans into meltdown when he announced that he would be swapping to the LA show for a three-episode guest arc’.
He shared the news of his comeback in an Instagram video in November, set to Suits’ theme tune, Greenback Boogie by Ima Robot.
Alongside the upload, which showed him changing into a personalized shirt and shoes embossed with his character’s name, he wrote: ‘When an old friend is in need….it’s time to take care of things and make those very “things” right.’
Suits LA airs on Sundays on NBC in the US.
