A comedy series called ‘bright and rowdy’ is now available to binge in full for free in the UK.

Co-created by Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project, Never Have I Ever), The Sex Lives of College Girls first hit screens in 2021.

It followed four college freshmen who were assigned as roommates when starting at Essex College in Vermont and tracked their sexual experiences on campus while making the transition into adulthood.

Pauline Chalamet played Kimberly, a working-class student who needed to take on a job to get by, Amrit Kaur was Bella, a sex-positive student chasing her dreams of becoming a comedy writer, Renee Rapp as wealthy legacy student Leighton, who is lesbian, and Alyah Chanelle Scott as Whitney, a star soccer player who is having an affair with her assistant soccer coach and is the daughter of a U.S. senator.

The series debuted with a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with fans praising the series as ‘fresh’, ‘bingeworthy’ and ‘compelling’.

‘Bright, rowdy, and lots of fun, this sparkling series endears itself to viewers with fresh, funny writing, and a quartet of lovable female characters finding their way into young womanhood,’ Refinery29 wrote in this review.

‘Created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, Sex Lives shares the same sharp, smart, and sassy comedic sensibility as Never Have I Ever, while tackling a wider range of young-adult issues,’ Entertainment Weekly wrote.

‘The kind of show where pretty much every cast member feels like a find, and where the natural chemistry among the central foursome adds to the series’ easy-going appeal,’ The Washington Post added.

It was then followed by two more seasons, which aired in the US in 2022 and 2024. This week, the third season was released on ITVX, with the series now available to binge in its entirety in the UK for free.

Before season 3 was released last year, Renee revealed she was leaving the series.

‘Thank u Mindy, Justin and everyone at Max for believing in me. A lot of queer work gets belittled — but playing Leighton has changed my life. I love who I am 10x more than I did before knowing her. I hope she gave y’all a little bit of that too,’ she wrote on social media.

‘She’s such a tiny part of representation but even the tiny parts count. I wouldn’t be half the person I am without her and y’all. I love her more than you know. I’m so excited for this season and I can’t wait for you to see what we have coming for her and the girls.’

Although Renee does appear in a few episodes of the most recent season, she went on to star in the Mean Girls movie musical and released her debut album Snow Angel.

Sex Lives of College Girls is streaming on ITVX.
