It is not hard to binge-watch ‘one of the greatest pieces of media’ as it is available on several streaming platforms.

Subscribers can find sci-fi drama Halo on Paramount Plus or Netflix and those without a monthly subscription can pay to rent the series on Amazon.

Based on the military game of the same name, the TV show is set in the 26th century and follows the conflict between humanity and a formidable alien alliance known as the Covenant.

Halo, which debuted in 2022 and returned for a second season last year, centres on Pablo Schreiber, 46, as super soldier Master Chief Petty and Jen Taylor as AI character Cortana.

On Google, viewers have breathlessly recommended Halo as ‘everything they hoped for and more,’ describing the series as a ‘masterpiece.’

Among them is Kyle ten Kate, who said: ‘Truly one of the greatest pieces of media I have ever consumed in my life. I honestly can’t recall how many times I’ve gone back to revisit this masterpiece.

‘The story alone is award-winning but it is heightened so much by the incredible performances of all the cast really bringing each of their respective roles to life in a way I have never seen before. It has amazing actors, gorgeous music, breathtaking visuals and story.’

Echoing their sentiment, Christian Francisco wrote: ‘The Halo show on Paramount+ is everything I could have hoped for and more. As a fan of the Halo series, I was thrilled by how they brought the universe to life.

‘The visuals are stunning, capturing the gritty yet futuristic essence of the franchise. The action sequences are intense and cinematic, especially the battles with the Covenant, which felt ripped straight out of the games.’

Karen Hart added: ‘If you can forget about everything previous (ie halo games), and come into this series with an open mind and fresh eyes, this series is an absolute treat.

‘The storyline draws you in and leaves you wanting more, and the characters and acting are well rounded – I am thrilled to see Master Chiefs face (sorry if that offends) – Pablo Schreiber is everything in this role, made for him. It’s an absolute treat for sci-fi action fans looking for something fresh.’

Halo is not the only sci-fi captivating viewers – with many recommending ‘ahead of its time’ show Timeless, which they said had been woefully ‘unappreciated’ since its debut in 2016.

It stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, and Malcolm Barrett as a team tasked with stopping a shady terrorist organisation that steals an experimental time travel machine to disrupt the course of history.

Timeless originally aired on NBC nearly a decade ago and was cancelled after one season. Three days later, after negotiations with production company Sony, it was renewed for season two.

The ten-episode second season premiered in 2018 but was axed again for the last time. It concluded at the end of that year with a two-part finale.

On Google, viewers raved about Timeless, which was described as ‘exceptional’ and the ‘best’ example of a sci-fi TV show.

Also on Amazon Prime, viewers have binge-watching sci-fi drama Secret Level.

The show is set in the worlds of some of the most beloved video games, including Pac-Man and Dungeons and Dragons, while the cast includes the likes of  Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger and his son Patrick Schwarzenegger – currently grabbing everyone’s attention in The White Lotus season 3.

On Google reviews of the series, Filipe Albanes wrote: ‘The series is absolutely fantastic and refreshing. Even episodes I initially thought I wouldn’t enjoy, like Pac Man, turned out to be surprisingly good.’

Halo is available to stream on Paramount Plus, Amazon and Netflix.
