Adam Pearson and Camila Cabello defy troll branding him ‘scary’ with sweet Baftas meeting
They proved the haters wrong.

A Different Man star Adam Pearson has shared his joyous encounter with Camila Cabello at the Baftas 2025 after an online troll claimed she would find him ‘so scary’.
The 40-year-old actor, who presented an award with Colman Domingo at the ceremony, was born with the rare genetic condition known as neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) which causes tumours to grow across a person’s nerves.
It is a topic he has been vocal about for years, and the subject of his latest movie opposite Sebastian Stan which follows aspiring actor Edward who blames his lack of career success on his neurofibromatosis.
The film, which also loosely draws on Adam’s own experiences, has been met with critical acclaim including a Golden Globe win for the Apprentice star in the best supporting actor category.
Although the movie didn’t receive any Bafta nominations, Adam attended the awards where it was shown in the seating plan he would be next to Havana hitmaker Camila Cabello.
An X user, @flophive, shared a screenshot of Adam’s photo next to Camila with the caption: ‘This is genuinely so scary, I would not attend the event if I were Camila’ in a since-deleted post.

After the event, he shared a series of photos on social media including one of his with Camila as they both smiled at one another.
‘Omggg you with Camila,’ @smilescabello wrote.
To which Adam responded: ‘And she was utterly delightful!’
When the post was first made, people on social media were quick to come to the screen star’s defence, calling the comment ‘beyond pathetic’ and ‘extremely disgusting ableism’.
The Under The Skin star responded to the troll, writing: ‘Luckily for everyone you’re not Camila and – most importantly – weren’t invited.
‘So from me, Adam Pearson, directly to you @FlopHive – take your nonsense opinions elsewhere as I have EXACTLY zero time for your anonymous, ableist nonsense.’
Fans praised the perfect response.
