A man has been arrested after he drove through the gates of Jennifer Aniston’s Bel-Air mansion.

On Monday the Friends actress, 56, was home when the unsettling incident unfolded.

The suspect, a man believed to be in his 70s, drove into the entrance to her sprawling $21 million (£15 million) Los Angeles property around noon local time.

He was quickly stopped by her security team, who reportedly held him at gunpoint while waiting for the Los Angeles Police Department to arrive.

A spokesperson for the police, officer Jeff Lee, later confirmed the details.

He explained that police had responded to a call about a ‘burglary suspect’ at the property who ‘ran his vehicle through the gate to the residence’.

He told CNN a security guard on the premises ‘held the suspect’, who was described as a white male in his 70s, until LAPD officers arrived.

He was then taken into custody without incident and is due to be charged for felony damage.

Police have not yet determined whether the incident was accidental or intentional.

It’s been reported he did not enter the home, and that Jennifer did not encounter the man during the incident.
