Inside Stephen Graham’s private life with wife he’s acted with 13 times
The pair first met in acting school!
Over the past 35 years, Stephen Graham has firmly established himself as one of the best British actors of his generation.
Beginning his career in 1990, his first notable projects came in Snatch, Gangs of New York and This is England.
The 51-year-old then went on to star in This is England spin-offs ’86, ’88 and ’90, as well as in Line of Duty Boardwalk Empire, Time and Peaky Blinders. Other film projects included The Irishman, Boiling Point and the Venom franchise.
This year also sees him appear in several notable shows, including the recently released A Thousand Blows, the upcoming Adolescence and in the Peaky Blinders movie.
Throughout his career the actor has also worked with his wife – Hannah Walters – several times.

Speaking about their relationship, he revealed in 2018: ‘We were bezzie mates. Which is the best way, isn’t it? After a while, we just thought, “This is daft”, do you know what I mean? “We like each other, we should get together”.’
They were married in June 2008 and live in Ibstock, Leicestershire.
The couple share a son and a daughter – Alfie and Grace.

In the years since the couple have worked together a total of 13 times.
The most notable have been in the short film Boiling Point, which was turned into a feature film two years later, in the 2021 series Time and in the newly released Disney Plus series A Thousand Blows. While Stephen plays boxer Sugar Goodson, Hannah plays the member of a female gang that terrorises London.
In 2020, Stephen praised his wife for helping his career: ‘I’m dyslexic so I struggle. My missus actually reads the script and says whether or not I’m doing it,’ he said.
‘She’s made some good choices. I have to read it and read it and read it, then make it look like it’s the first time I’m saying it.’
He also previously said of his wife: ‘I watched Hannah back in the day at drama school and always thought she was brilliant.’

Although he has rarely spoken about his personal life, Stephen did tell The Times: ‘We have ups and downs, of course. Luckily, though, the relationship we both have with our children is beautiful – but it takes work.’
In 2021 Hannah told The Mirror: ‘I want to kill him at times… but I just adore him.’
