Lorraine Kelly, 65, shares update after undergoing ‘preventative’ keyhole surgery
The daytime TV star will be out of action for a while.

Lorraine Kelly has given her fans an update after undergoing major surgery.
The daytime TV presenter, 65, announced this weekend that she would be out of action for a while due to keyhole surgery.
Having felt ‘unwell’ for some time, the Scottish broadcaster was told she needed her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.
Keen to keep everyone in the loop, Lorraine took to Instagram this evening to assure them that the op had been a success.
On the social media platform, where she boasts 572,000 followers, Lorraine posted a photo of her smiling, sitting in the middle of the medical staff who looked after her.
‘Huge thanks to these kind, caring, gorgeous professionals who took care of me at @heatherwoodhospital – back home now and following doctors orders to rest up’, she wrote in the caption.

In the pic, she can be seen wearing a T-shirt with a quote from Dame Deborah James printed on the front.
‘Take risks, love deeply and always have rebellious hope,’ it says, in memory of the journalist who died in June 2022 after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Lorraine’s comments section was quickly flooded with well wishes for her recovery, with colleague Dr Amir Khan writing: ‘So glad you’re home, what a fantastic team x’
‘Glad you are home. Rest up ❤️’, added Katie Piper.

It’s believed Lorraine will take a few weeks off work to recuperate after her surgery. As per health guidance, it can take between four and six weeks for a person to fully recover after her procedure.
Surgery to remove a woman’s ovaries and fallopian tubes is usually performed to prevent her from contracting ovarian cancer.
In her initial announcement video posted on Saturday, Lorraine maintained her cheery persona as she told the camera: ‘Hi there, it’s Lorraine here. Just wanted to let you know I’m having a wee procedure today.
‘I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.’
She stressed that the surgery was ‘purely preventative’ and that she was being ‘really well looked after’.
‘I’m gonna be totally fine. See you soon,’ she concluded with a grin.
