Vice Squad and The Young and the Restless actor Wings Hauser dies aged 77
He holds more than 100 film and TV credits.

American actor Wings Hauser has died.
The star, who was best known for his roles in Vice Squad and soap opera The Young and the Restless, died on March 15 in Los Angeles.
He died of natural causes, his wife Cali Lili confirmed.
In a statement posted on social media, she said: ‘Movie icon Wings Hauser took flight in the arms of his film & music partner, Cali Lili Hauser at their studio this weekend.
‘Born in Hollywood, proud Academy member and prouder son of Academy Award winning writer, director, producer Dwight A. Hauser and loving mother Geraldine T. Hauser, Wings Hauser’s one of a kind, legendary career spanned 58 years in movies, tv & music working alongside many of the greatest artists in the industry and earning their respect.
‘His recent and upcoming releases along with his living wish is handing the torch to the love of his life, Cali, requesting she continue the work embodying their partnership, their love story and honoring his legacy.

Hauser, whose full name was Gerald Dwight ‘Wings’ Hauser, starred in more than 100 film and TV productions since 1967.
Having come from an acting family, he made his acting debut at the age of 18, playing a small role in 1967 war film First to Fight.

Hauser remained on the soap opera until 1981, when he was replaced by Howard McGillin.
He also starred as Ramrod in Vice Squad, performing the film’s theme song Neon Slime, and later starred as Garrard in TV film Hear No Evil.

His credits also include Beverly Hills 90210, Murder, She Wrote, and Roseanne.
Hauser elsewhere featured in Walker, Texas Ranger, Skins, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist and various editions of CSI.
The actor is succeeded by his two daughters and son, actor Cole Hauser, who is known for his roles in Good Will Hunting, Olympus Has Fallen and Yellowstone.
