Come Dine With Me’s’ Whisk guy’ wishes he put something more expensive in his mouth
His meme is the gift that keeps on giving.

Come Dine With Me star and resident Whisk Guy Kev Riley may have gone down in the Channel 4 show’s history – but he has one huge regret.
In 2012, Kev was whipping up a layered chocolate cheesecake and could not resist having a little taste of his concoction, but instead of getting a teaspoon, as, well, most people would do, he shoved the whole whisk in his mouth.
He later admitted he had no idea exactly what possessed him, but whatever the case may be, he still captured the nation’s heart with his quirky approach to licking the cake bowl.
However, Kev has now revealed he wished he had deepthroated a more expensive cooking utensil he could have marketed rather than a whisk which is impossible ‘to brand.’
Chatting to host Andrew White on Fubar Radio’s comedy programme Pulse Of The Nation, he said: ‘My wife is constantly reminding me that I don’t make any money out of this fame.
‘Maybe it should have been something more expensive I put in my mouth because you can’t really brand a whisk. They’re about two quid, aren’t they?’
However, Kevin has found one way to monetise his Come Dine With Me fame by joining the likes of The Inbetweeners star James Buckley on personalised video message platform Cameo.
He revealed: ‘I’m on the Cameo app doing the happy birthdays and things like that. There’s a modicum amount of money on that, but nothing really.
‘When I spoke to Rob Beckett about it, when I was on his show, he said somebody with that many hits on YouTube – he said over 50 million – I should have at least had a nice car or holiday out of it.’
Kev previously bemoaned to Metro about his lack of earnings from Come Dine With Me.
‘I’ve never made money from Come Dine With Me,’ he said.
But other people have. They released 30,000 Come Dine With Me Christmas jumpers two years ago, Netflix has bought the rights to show it and then I’m the face of that on their channel.
On Fubar, Kev also said that while he wasn’t sure what came over him when he shoved a whisk in his mouth, he was trying to make a producer who had a ‘soft spot’ for him laugh.
He explained: ‘The three other contestants were all really good cooks, and I was struggling.
‘I had a producer who had a bit of a soft spot for me, and she was even chopping up my veg and I was doing it to make her laugh.
‘I just shouted to her and just put the whisk in my mouth and then it was only when I saw the camera crew laughing that I realised it was a moment.’
Other members of the Come Dine With Me hall of fame include Peter Marsh who uttered the words ‘what a sad little life you lead, Jane,’ Claire Phillips and her chaotic hosting which included serving everything on wooden planks as they are ‘impressive,’
Come Dine With Me is available to stream on Channel 4.
