Matthew Perry was given ’27 shot of ketamine’ in the final three days before his tragic death, a new documentary has claimed.

The Friends actor died at the age of 54 in October, 2023 – an autopsy later revealed that he had been killed by ‘acute effects of ketamine.’

Following an investigation, five people were charged in connection with his death– including his live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, Erik Fleming, Dr Salvador Plasencia, Dr Mark Chavez and Jasveen Sangha aka ‘The Ketamine Queen’.

A new documentary was released on Peacock in the US today, exploring his battle with addiction, as well as his last days.

David Feifel, the medical director at Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute, told the camera: ‘I think the main thing that can make ketamine dangerous is its unsupervised use – that’s where we have a dangerous situation.’

Iwamasa, who pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute ketamine causing death, has admitted to ‘repeatedly injecting’ the Chandler Bing star with the drug ‘without medical training’, and ‘performing multiple injections’ on the day he died.

In the footage, US attorney Martin Estrada – who oversaw the case before stepping down from his role last month – said: ‘Ketamine is a controlled substance.

‘It is a substance that can have legitimate purposes. But it has to be administered by trained professionals.

‘Unfortunately, it is a drug that is also abused. Mr Perry fell back into addiction, and he began searching for additional sources of ketamine.’

A message displayed on screen read: ‘In the final three days before his dead, Perry would receive 27 shots of ketamine.’

‘Allegedly you have Dr Plasencia providing ketamine to a live-in assistant who has no medical training whatsoever,’ Estrada added.

‘That live-in assistant is administering the ketamine to a patient whose risk factors are through the roof.

‘As we get to those final days, he’s seeking more ketamine.

‘On the last day of Matthew Perry’s life, Mr Iwamasa injects Mr Perry several times. One last injection, he leaves him, goes and runs some errands, comes back and we find Mr Perry passed away.’

Iwamasa, who was not medically trained, revealed in plea agreement papers that he injected his employer with three doses in his final hours

The documents, obtained by People Magazine, reportedly show that he administered the first dose at 8:30am, before supplying a second dose four hours later.

He then gave him another injection 40 minutes later, before which Perry asked him to ‘shoot me up with a big one’.

Iwamasa allegedly started up the hot tub and left to run errands – he returned to find the 17 Again star’s body.

According to the legal filings, he could be facing more than a decade behind bars after allegedly cleaned up the scene, including evidence of syringes and ketamine vials, following the star’s death.

Iwamasa, Fleming, and Dr Chavez are currently awaiting sentencing, while Dr Plasencia and Sangha have pleaded not guilty – their trials are set for March 4.
