‘One in a million’ voice actor George Lowe dies aged 67 after health issues
He was best known for his role in Space Ghost Coast To Coast.

George Lowe, best known for voicing the series Space Ghost Coast To Coast, has died at the age of 67.
The cult comedy chat show spoof ran for over 10 years and saw a reimagined version of the 1960s Hanna-Barbera superhero ‘Space Ghost’ hold interviews with live action guests such as Jim Carrey, Sarah Jessica Parker and others.
Long time friend and broadcaster Marvin Boone shared the news on Facebook, writing: ‘I’m beyond devastated. My Zobanian brother and best friend for over 40 years, George Lowe, has passed away after a long illness. A part of me had also died.
‘He was a supremely talented Artist and Voice actor. A true warm hearted Genius. Funniest man on Earth too. I’ve stolen jokes from him for decades. He stole some of mine. He was also the voice of Space Ghost and so much more. Pweeloto.’
A representative also confirmed the news to AV Club.
Space Ghost Coast to Coast, created by Mile Lazz in 1994, was one of the first original series produced for Cartoon Network.
Lowe was described as a ‘warm hearted genius’ my his good friend Marvin (Picture: @adultswim/X)It ended in 1999, but was revived two years later and moved to the Adult Swim late-night schedule, with new episodes airing from 2004.
According to IMDB, Lowe played Space Ghost in 113 episodes of the series, and again in a number of spin offs including The Brak Show.
He reprised his role as Space Ghost for the final time in 2024, when he appeared in Jellystone.
Other roles include various voices in Robot Chicken from 2006 to 2010, and he appeared in 24 episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Many have taken to social media to pay tribute to Lowe.
Adult Swim posted a tribute on X with one of his Space Ghost’s quotes, saying: ‘RIP George Lowe. “I was dead long before you were born, and I’ll be dead long before you die.”’

Another fan @staidindoors said: ‘RIP George Lowe. He was insanely funny and my favorite talk show host. No one could deliver a line like him.
‘You can’t really overstate the impact of Space Ghost. Without it there’d be no Adult Swim, no Aqua Teen, no Tim & Eric. The show should have ran for 30 years.’
Z user @SecondLama wrote: ‘This actually hurt. George Lowe was one of those brilliant talents when it came to choices and delivery.
‘A solid 10% of the words that come out of my mouth daily are SGC2C references that are amusing to me and me alone. I’m gonna miss the little guy.’
