Phillip Schofield has been pictured looking pretty glum as he goes about his daily life, while his former This Morning co-star Holly Willoughby is back in the spotlight.

It’s been nearly two years since Schofield, 62, resigned from his ITV projects in full after admitting to having an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague and amid an alleged feud with Holly.

He stayed away from the limelight for months before making a massive TV comeback on Channel 5’s reboot of Cast Away, where he vowed to ‘say whatever I want about whatever I want’.

During the three-part series where he was deserted on an island, Schofield appeared to mock Holly’s infamous ‘Are you ok?’ This Morning scene, made it clear he wouldn’t work for ITV again, and lashed out at three unnamed ‘s**ts’ in showbiz and fumed at being ‘thrown under the bus’.

While his comeback was branded a ‘car crash’, Holly kept her class with a dignified silence, and she is now having her turn on a remote island – in a very different way.

The 43-year-old has joined Bear Grylls for his Netflix reality series Celebrity Bear Hunt, which sees the likes of Lottie Moss, Boris Becker, Mel B and Shirley Ballas take part in brutal tasks after being dropped into the Central American jungle where they become ‘prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators’.

And just hours after she was pictured in a glam black gown at the London premiere for the new series, Schofield was seen looking glum as he took his rubbish bins in today.

The ex-ITV star dressed casually in jeans a green hoodie, with his glasses tucked into his neckline.

He looked downcast as he was spotted outside his west London home, having been keeping a low profile in recent months.

It’s unclear whether he plans on making a return to screens, with previous rumours claiming he could make an appearance on the likes of I’m A Celebrity or Celebrity Big Brother.

But Schofield firmly shut those claims down in one of several furious rants in Cast Away, saying: ‘There are some channels you won’t work for, there are some people you just won’t work for.’

Holly has meanwhile returned to her place in the limelight on Celebrity Bear Hunt and on Dancing On Ice, after she left This Morning months after Schofield.

Her time on the ITV daytime programme came to an end in October 2023, after a horrifying plot to kidnap and murder her was uncovered.

The man responsible, former security guard Gavin Plumb, received three life sentences last year after he unwittingly revealed his plan to an undercover US officer in an online chatroom. Plumb was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years and 85 days.

Holly stayed away from the public eye for the months that followed, and gave her first interview in a year just weeks ago, describing the period as ‘a tough one’.

‘It’s been a tough one. There’s no way of sugar-coating it,’ she told The Times.

She continued: ‘Nothing can prepare you for something like that. When something like that happens, you have a decision to make.

‘You either decide, right, I can take this on board, and it can absolutely affect all aspects of my life. Or I can make a choice to go, let’s focus on everything that’s positive and good, all those important things.’

Celebrity Bear Hunt is available to watch on Netflix.
