Amazon Prime Video viewers outraged by ‘additional cost’ of highly anticipated show
The announcement has received a mixed reaction.

Amazon Prime Video has announced a blockbuster deal with WWE rivals All Elite Wrestling.
The streaming giant is getting into the wrestling game with live pay-per-views, starting with this weekend’s AEW Revolution event on Sunday, March 9.
Under the new multi-year deal, the company’s regular PPV events will be available to purchase for fans in the US, Canada and UK, costing £19.99 via Prime Video for UK viewers.
‘We are thrilled to work with Prime Video to bring all AEW pay-per-view events to their incredible service, marking a major milestone in the continued expansion of AEW’s global reach,’ said AEW chief Tony Khan.
‘AEW pay-per-view events are consistently the most exciting professional wrestling events in the world, and fans will now be able to experience that firsthand through Prime Video.’
Despite the exciting new platform for WWE’s biggest rivals, fans aren’t happy with the news the big events won’t be included as part of their existing subscription.

Previous Page Next PageAlthough you don’t need a subscription to access the PPV, some fans still aren’t happy that the event will still cost the same on Prime.
‘In a world of streaming subscription services, nobody wants to pay $50 for a pay-per-view anymore. At least offer a discount to watch it on Prime, $25 – $35 would be reasonable. It’s 2025, not 1995,’ complained X user @marcometer.
‘AEW needs to get with the times. No one is paying for a PPV. If it was included with Prime sure I’d watch way more,’ added @DMoneyNY42, while @MarkFreitas96 said: ‘If I’m paying for Prime, why should I pay for the PPV LOL ???????? #AEW’
Others compared the arrangement to WWE’s deal with Netflix, which means all of its programming is included in user’s subscriptions.
As well as live episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT and plenty of archive footage, this includes WWE’s monthly premium live events.
Fans will be able to access AEW events through Amazon Prime Video even if they don’t have a subscription (Picture: AEW/Lee South)‘I’m in the UK and get all WWE PLE’s included in my Netflix subscription. There’s no way I’d pay £19.99 on top of my Amazon Prime subscription for an AEW PPV. What a rip off,’ argued @whittyjack__.
AEW fans can still watch the PPVs via TrillerTV for the same price, while in the US its programming is available on Max, making the Prime deal simply another way to access the events.
‘People complaining about this like it’s bad. It’s making AEW PPV’s more accessible to people who may not have MAX but do have PRIME,’ argued @OspreayCheeks.
‘With 200 million subscribers worldwide using Prime, that’s a lot of eyeballs so however many purchase the ppv through them it’ll only be a good thing. This is great news for AEW,’ added @SoCalPete.
And @StuntmanSeth pointed out: ‘This is like someone getting upset that new movies aren’t free on prime.’
AEW Revolution airs Sunday (March 9) at midnight. Fans can watch via TrillerTV or Amazon Prime Video.
