Spencer Matthews was notably absent from the finish line when Jamie Laing completed his recent ultramarathon.

The Made In Chelsea star, 36, ran 150 miles over five days for Comic Relief through his Red Nose Day challenge, raising a whopping £2,007,114 in donations.

Jamie was greeted at the finish line by his loved ones including wife Sophie Habboo as well as Made In Chelsea co-star Oliver Proudlock and Radio One DJ Greg James.

But Jamie’s ‘best friend’ Spencer, 36, was nowhere to be seen, leaving fans scratching their heads as to why.

A source told Mail Online that the reality TV star is ‘a bit non-plussed’ by Jamie’s enormous achievement.

‘Spencer has been a bit non-plussed about Jamie’s challenge which is very odd given they were so close,’ the insider said.

‘They were like brothers, he [Spencer] was master of ceremonies at the wedding and they were always there for one another. It is the talk of their friendship group now that they seem to have fallen out. It’s very mysterious.

‘Jamie’s run is perhaps the biggest thing he will ever do in his life – surely he must be missing his friend. You now have to wonder what has happened to cause a change in their relationship.

‘Whatever went on, it caused a lot of friction. It’s still being referred to amongst their unforgiving circle.’

Spencer is no stranger to sporting challenges, having completed 30 marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert last year.

It has been speculated by fans that the friends, who once hosted podcast 6 Degrees From Jamie and Spencer together, are no longer close.

Their rumoured ‘feud’ seems to have began in 2023 after Spencer said he was ‘p****d off’ that Jamie did not invite him to his wedding.

Spender did indeed attend Jamie and Sophie’s Spanish nuptials in June, but he was not present during their intimate gathering at London’s Chelsea Registry Officer two months prior.

‘Sophie looked absolutely magnificent, we were absolutely thrilled for them, but we also did not know it was happening because we were not invited,’ said Spencer’s wife Vogue Williams on their podcast Spencer & Vogue in April 2023.

The pair said they wanted to ‘set the record straight’ after they received ‘some really mean messages’ from fans accusing them of snubbing Jamie’s wedding to go on holiday.

‘I’m not here to b**ch about my best friends, but there’s been some serious miscommunication from him. I just want to set the record straight more than anything,’ Spencer began.

‘I was not invited to this part of Jamie’s wedding, and neither was Vogue.’

Spencer added: ‘He said that day was never supposed to be what it turned out to be, and there were never supposed to be groomsmen and bridesmaids there but they decided to make more of a thing of it, and I was away so it didn’t cross his mind to call me,’ Spencer recalled.

Jamie apologised for the incident, saying ‘he f****d up’ during the ‘hectic process’ of planning the festivities.

‘I f****d up. We had our wedding, our civil ceremony in the UK. It was a hectic process,’ he said on an episode of Sophie’s Nearlyweds podcast.

‘Amongst the hectic-ness of getting people there and things like that, I thought Spencer and Vogue were away.

‘Spencer got upset – which is fair enough. So I sent Vogue a message hoping to get a bit of support and then she replied “To be honest Jamie, it’s not good.” And I was like “f***”.’

Model Vogue then chimed in over the fallout, saying: ‘He was very upset, I have to be honest, I’ve never seen him like that.

‘He was genuinely upset over something and then it was getting worse and worse because then other things were coming out. We saw the personalised stuff. And I was like, “Oh s**t, he really thought about this, people have personalised things”.’
