Viewers are being urged to catch up on the past two ‘brilliant’ seasons of Gangs of London before it returns.

Action fans have just two days to binge-watch the gritty drama ahead of season 3’s much-anticipated release on Thursday.

The third instalment of Gangs of London follows the chaos sparked by the death of hundreds of cocaine users in the capital after a spiked drug shipment.

Fan favourite characters including Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Elliot Carter, Joe Cole as Sean Wallace and Michelle Fairley as Marian Wallace are among the returning cast.

They are joined by Gangs of London newcomers Game of Thrones star Richard Dormer and Black Doves actor Andrew Koji.

On Google, the violent crime drama has been recommended by dozens of viewers, who have hailed the TV show as ‘mind-blowing.’

Among them is Michael Amaning, who enthused: ‘This is one of the best TV series I have EVER watched and for me is an example of how great writing, great cinematography and acting all come together to create a rival of …. The Wire. The levels of suspense, action, meaningful character motivations make each hour a standalone movie leaving my mouth open at least 3 times per episode.’

Mike Ty raved: ‘THE BEST CRIME/GANG WORLD SHOW U’D EVER WATCH. sorry about the caps but I had to empathise with some authority. Just go and watch it and you wouldn’t be disappointed if you’re a fan of crime/gang world.’

Echoing their sentiment, Vivienne Murphy said: ‘Absolutely mind-blowing.’

Tonya D added: ‘Absolutely loved this series. I have watched it no less than 8Xs- yes, all episodes every single time. It’s an action-packed, yet violent and graphic series. From the opening scene in S1 to the closing scene in S2, you will be sitting on the edge of your seat. Just be sure to turn on closed captioning as there are times when you may miss a line or two because of the actors’ accents. I can’t wait for S3 to be released.’

Gangs of London season two director Corin Hardy previously told Metro his aim was for the show to be ‘the most dangerous on TV.’

He explained: ‘What I mean by that is it’s exciting when you’re watching something and you don’t know what the rules are, and you don’t know how far it is gonna go.

‘I think you can get too comfortable watching TV and just knowing week by week who’s going to do what and who’s going to say what.

‘I never want Gangs of London to feel like that, so that’s what I mean. It should feel dangerous, and it should feel dangerous for the characters, and in turn thrilling.’

The first season of the Sky Atlantic drama smashed records, previously set by Game of Thrones, for being the most violent show on our screens.

It had a total of 113 deaths, 96 shootings, 30 stabbings and seven strangulations with 13 unfortunate souls being tortured.

All 8 episodes of Gangs of London 3 will launch as a box set on Sky Atlantic and the streaming service Now from Thursday.
