Several huge stars have appeared in the beloved animated show.

Bluey has broken records, reduced adults to tears, and fast become one of the most beloved children’s TV shows.
The animated programme, which began in 2019, follows the Heeler family including daughters Bluey and Bingo, mum Chilli, and dad Bandit.
The four anthropomorphic dogs and their extended friends and family have fast found a place in our hearts thanks to the show’s sensitive approach to many hard-hitting subjects as well as its wholesome yet realistic look at family life.
It has won an International Emmy Kids Award and a Peabody Award, with a feature-length film in development for 2027.
Due to its popularity, it should come as no surprise that various famous faces – or voices – have appeared in the show across its three seasons.
Here, we look at nine of the biggest stars to have appeared in Bluey, from Hollywood icons to TV stars and comedians.
Rose Byrne Rose Byrne broke viewers’ hearts in an especially emotional episode of BlueyHeartbreaking season three episode Onesies had fans of Bluey in floods of tears after it emotionally dealt with the subject of fertility and baby loss.
When Aunt Brandy comes to visit the Heelers, her pain over being around Bluey and Bingo is evident, and in a touching moment with her sister Chilli, the two come to terms with their experiences of baby loss.
Rose Byrne, best known for her roles in Bad Neighbours, Bridesmaids, and Insidious, lent her voice to Brandy.
The Australian actor admitted she was ‘nervous’ before appearing in the beloved animated show, telling Drew Barrymore on her show: ‘I’m such a fan. So when I was in the booth, I was just really nervous ’cause it meant so much to me.
‘My children watch it, and it’s one of the few shows we all can watch together and I’m happy for them to watch.
‘It’s entertaining, but it’s really gentle and it’s funny and it’s emotional.’
Brandy made a return in season three special The Sign, which left fans in tears yet again for many reasons, the main one being Brandy’s pregnancy reveal.
Natalie Portman Natalie Portman branded her role in Bluey one of the ‘most important’ of her careerIf you’ve seen season three, episode 22, Whale Watching, you might have recognised the voice of the nature documentary’s host.
The voiceover on the show was none other than Black Swan and Leon actor Natalie Portman, who described her stint in Bluey as one of the ‘most important’ of her career.
Speaking on the Today show, she said: ‘I was a narrator of a nature documentary that they were watching.
‘It’s a very important show for my family and I was really, really honoured to get to be part of it.
‘It’s so wonderful. It’s pure joy.’
Lin-Manuel Miranda Lin-Manuel Miranda had an unusual role in the hit programmeAs well as having smash hit stage productions Hamilton and In The Heights as well as beloved Disney films Moana and Encanto under his belt, Lin-Manuel Miranda can also add Bluey to his roster.
The Pulitzer Prize recipient appeared in a rather unusual role in the show – as talking horse Major Tom in season three, episode 28, Stories.
In the episode, Indy is left heartbroken when the horse sculpture she makes is mistaken for a cow.
Encouraged by her friend Winton, the two visit the horse next door to their kindergarten to work out what went wrong.
Before appearing on the show, Miranda told Collider he was keen to land a role in Bluey.
‘The show we watched the most during the pandemic was Bluey – because it is the only kids show that the whole family can be hysterically laughing at.
‘But I wouldn’t dare guest star on it! You need to be Australian to be on that show!’
Eva Mendes Eva Mendes said Bluey is a family favourite at home with Ryan Gosling and their kidsHitch and The Place Beyond The Pines actor Eva Mendes has entered the world of Bluey multiple times.
Notably, she appeared in season three, episode six, Born Yesterday, where she voices a yoga instructor.
Mendes was the lead voiceover for Bluey Book Reads episode Mum School, with plenty of famous people appearing in the spin-off series including Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Bindi Irwin, and Tom Daley.
The 2 Fast 2 Furious actor previously said that Bluey is a favourite in her family, with Mendes and husband Ryan Gosling regularly tuning in with their children.
‘Bluey is huge in our house. Huge,’ she told Now To Love.
‘It’s really beautiful, I really love Bluey. They get kind of this crazy energy afterwards and they play tricks on us. They really love the frozen statue thing.
‘But they love Bluey, and we love Bluey, and we watch it a lot,’ she continued.’
Joel Edgerton The Sign had a number of celebrity special guests, including Joel EdgertonThe Sign was the event of the year for many parents (and those without children, we don’t judge).
The 30-minute long special episode was the animated equivalent of the Royal Wedding with Uncle Rad and Frisky tying the knot after the show followed their love story from their meeting in season two, episode 39, Double Babysitter.
The special instalment also included several special guests, including Warrior and The Gift star Joel Edgerton.
He appears as a police dog (aptly, a German Shepherd) who gives Frisky a speeding ticket while she drives away from the Heeler home on the morning of her wedding following an argument with Uncle Rad.
Total Control star Deborah Mailman also appears in the episode as a sheepdog, one-half of a couple who almost buy the Heeler home but pull out of the sale in the final moments.
Robert Irwin It should come as no surprise that beloved Australian conservationist Robert Irwin has been in BlueyAnimal lover and conservationist Robert Irwin, the son of Steve Irwin, appeared as a beloved character in Bluey.
Toy store employee Alfie saves the day in season two, episode, 37, The Quiet Game, when Bluey and Bingo take a vow of silence during a game – something which proves a problem when Bandit needs to know which toy to buy their cousin Muffin for her birthday.
Alfie deciphers their charades and helps Bandit choose the correct toy, with him branding the teenager a ‘legend’ on his very first day on the job.
Robert shared the news he would be appearing in Bluey on his Instagram page, saying he was ‘so happy’ to be part of the ‘awesome’ Australian show.
‘I am very excited to be voicing a character in a new episode of Bluey – Alfie will be featuring on the show on November 4!,’ he wrote.
‘So happy to be part of this awesome Aussie production, hope you can watch ????.’
Adam Hills Cricket has been a major fixture across all three seasons of BlueyAustralian comedian Adam Hills utilised his experience hosting shows such as The Last Leg and Spicks and Specks for his role in Bluey.
Hills voiced a cricket commentator in season three, episode 38, Cubby, which saw Bluey and Bingo create a labyrinthian cubby for their stuffed toy Kimjim.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Hills shared an image which showed a still of the Heelers’ TV and a cricket match.
‘Im gonna be on Bluey!’ he wrote in the caption. ‘This Sunday April 9th, I’m the voice of a cricket commentator on an episode called Cubby.
‘You can see it at 8am and 6.20pm on ABC Kids and ABC iview.’
Cricket has played a very special part in the show, with many fans hailing season three, episode 47, Cricket, a ‘masterpiece’ as it explores Rusty’s relationship with the sport.
Patrick Brammall From one hit TV show to another, Colin from Accounts’ Patrick Brammall has also been in Bluey as a member of the Heeler familyPatrick Brammall is best known for starring in hit comedy series Colin from Accounts, which currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
But another TV credit he has under his belt in Bluey, voicing Bandit’s older brother Uncle Rad in numerous episodes.
We first meet Uncle Rad in Double Babysitter before joining him again in season two, episode 51, Christmas Swim, where we learn Rad and Frisky are a couple.
Brammall also voices Rad in The Sign, where he and Frisky get married with the whole Heeler clan there for the festivities.
The actor said his daughter Joni – whom he shares with wife Harriet Dyer – watches the show, but she doesn’t recognise her dad’s voice on it.
‘I’ve seen you actually go, “Hey, that’s daddy,” and she just tunes out,’ Dyer said in a joint interview with Now To Love.
‘I don’t think she can work out that a voice in a TV is a person.’
She said she would ‘love’ a role on the show, while Brammall described Uncle Rad as ‘the high point of his career.’
‘I’ve never had more street cred than when I got a role on Bluey,’ he said.
Anthony Field Two huge Australian children’s TV shows met at last when Anthony Field joined the voice cast of BlueyAnother Australian children’s TV institution is The Wiggles, which began in 1991.
Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, fas voiced several characters in Bluey, most notably Rusty’s dad in season two, episode 16, Army.
He also appeared in another season two episode – number one, Dance Mode – as a post office employee who is bewildered when Bandit can’t stop dancing.
But that’s not the only crossover we’ve seen between Bluey and The Wiggles as the animated show paid a touching tribute to The Wiggles in season three, episode 16, Phones.
One scene from the episode shows a framed photo of four dogs in coloured costumes identical to those worn by The Wiggles.
The photo also contains the autographs of Purple Wiggle Lachlan Gillespie, Red Wiggle Simon Pryce, Blue Wiggle Anthony Field and former Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins.
