The Final Night of Six is officially over, and ‘just like that’, beloved British pop-punk band You Me At Six have bowed out.

A whopping 20 years to the day of their first-ever rehearsal, the Loverboy hitmakers wrapped up their worldwide farewell tour in Wembley Arena.

Forming in 2005 in Weybridge, Surrey, You Me At Six found success with their debut album Take Off Your Colours four years later.

Last January, bandmates Josh Franceschi, Max Helyer, Chris Miller, Matt Barnes and Daniel Flint announced ‘This is the end’.

Fans were devastated at the news, but nothing compared to the emotion felt when Josh dropped the microphone for one final time.

After blasting through their biggest hits, with plenty of deep cuts and crowd pleasers, Josh wrapped up the show ahead of their final track.

‘What do you even say?’ he laughed as he looked out at the crowd. ‘This is a true f**king story about five useless c**ts doing something good with their lives… thank you so much for letting us be your band.’

The frontman continued: ‘For taking us in your headphones, your homes, your hearts. There is only one thing left to say – please stand for your national anthem, “Underdog”.’

While the song was not one of the band’s bigger chart hits, since its release in 2010, it has become a fan favourite.

Videos show the crowd erupting into roars as the opening bars began and singing every single word back to the musicians.

After a triumphant finish and a final on-stage snap, Josh twisted the emotional knife one more time in a painfully short farewell.

‘Just like that, we are dead. See you later,’ he announced before putting down his mic and hugging his bandmates, who jumped and embraced each other.

Fans online were overcome by the simple goodbye, with plenty saying YMAS’ on-stage hug ‘broke’ them.

‘Listening to my ymas playlist and skipping every single song on the setlist,’theconseqvence wrote on X. ‘I am not crying on a train today I am a very stable person.’

‘”We have been and always will be you me at six” shooting myself in a foot would hurt less,’ added chxaporigami.

ReeClare asked: ‘Am i just supposed to be okay now and carry on living my life knowing il never go to a You Me At Six gig ever again?????????’

Daniel Hollis shared: ‘In 2008, @youmeatsix was the first band I ever saw live when they supported Fall Out Boy. 2025 and I’m saying goodbye to them at Wembley Arena.

‘A surreal full circle moment that fills me with many emotions. ❤️’

You Me At Six rose to prominence in the emo wave of the 00s and 2010s, alongside artists like Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, and Bring Me The Horizon.

The band’s highest charting song in the UK was Lived A Lie, which peaked at number 11 in 2013, after appearing on the Fifa 14 soundtrack.

The group have also had two number one albums – Cavalier Youth in 2014 and Suckapunch in 2021 — along with pop-punk classics Sinner Never Sleep and Hold Me Down.

When the split was announced, You Me At Six assured fans it was simply ‘time’ rather than any issues or bad blood within the group.

Josh then revealed to NME that they have three weddings coming up between the five band members, marking a shift in focus on their families.

‘There’s a lot of talk of going travelling, or maybe start having kids and that sort of stuff,’ he shared. ‘We’re still figuring it out. Maybe there’s nothing to figure out, and we’ll just go where the wind takes us.

‘The concept of those four not being in my life is just completely mental to me, that would never happen. I have no doubt that we’ll be together and we’ll do stuff socially.

‘I’m sure for some of us, if not all of us, there’ll be more that will happen down the line creatively.’
