Katie Price says she was once spat on and strangled by a man.

The former glamour model, 46, has just opened up about everything from failed IVF to kidnap threats, childhood abuse, and toxic relationships in a candid interview with Paul Brunson on his podcast We Need to Talk.

When asked if she’s got any relationship moments she is yet to unpack and discuss during therapy, Katie responded: ‘Being strangled, spat on, my computer being completely smashed, holes being punched in the wall, name calling, things like that.’

Saying that she had feared for her life in some of her past relationships, Katie explained: ‘But I couldn’t leave because [the partners say] “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I’ll never do it again. I love you.”

‘And it’s always, “You will never find anyone as good as me. You will never find anyone who loves you like me. No one would accept you, and who would want you, an old has-been like you with five kids? You’re lucky that I want you.”‘

Brunson explained to Katie how to identify a healthy relationship, saying that life is better when you are around them, and you will feel free.

Talking about her current relationship with JJ Slater, Katie said he’s the ‘kindest, most genuine, easygoing, chilled person’.

‘But do I feel my most happiest and do I feel free? No,’ she said, adding: ‘It’s not a reflection on him, maybe that’s what I need to change for myself.’

Having experienced a huge amount of trauma at the hands of men dating back to when she was raped at the age of seven, Katie reflected on how therapy has helped her.

‘I am free and I am light. I don’t feel heaviness, I can sleep at night. Because I started communicating and things get better,’ she said.

‘It’s like a flower, everything opens, it’s like a different world. The world is like an oyster and I’m in control of my destiny now.’

During the chat mother-of-five Katie also said she wants more children and revealed that she went through IVF, but it didn’t work.

‘I had IVF and it failed because my eggs are too old, and then I gave it a go even though the doctor said you’ve got 1% chance of it working, I said “Well I might be that 1%, I’m doing it”,’ she said.

‘So I went through all of it, and then it didn’t work. I have got donor eggs, I got them last year.’

She continued: ‘I’m not afraid to have a baby on my own, and before I met JJ, I was quite happy. I found a sperm donor from America, from Black origin.

‘I’m going through the pre menopause at the moment, and so I thought, you can’t have kids, but you can. I’ve been tested. I’m all fine. I can still carry babies, so I have got the eggs there. I’ve got everything set up for when I want it.’

In another raw podcast appearance, Katie told Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail podcast last year that her traumatic events with men have profoundly impacted her life.

Taking Elizabeth through her traumatic life, starting from the beginning, Katie said: ‘I got raped in a park when I was seven, then I was nearly abducted.

‘Then I worked with a photographer, the police knocked on the door and he used to drug girls with milkshakes, but I never took it.

‘One day he said ”I want you to be naked in a white wet shirt” and I said ”no” and then ”yeah,” so my start with men wasn’t good.’

She continued: ‘My first boyfriend beat me up, the next would rip my clothes up and I would have to go ring my mum naked from a telephone box, then the next one cheated on me.’

Summing up the impact, Katie said: ‘So none of them were healthy and you become insecure and needy it becomes toxic. If men hadn’t been in my life I wouldn’t be bankrupt, mentally abused etc. It’s to do with men.’
